Orø and Isefjorden

The little island of Orø is situated in the middle of Isefjorden, which extends from the old Zealand provincial town of Holbæk out to Kattegat. The trip around Isefjorden gives you a charmingly lush view of Denmark.

Orø and its footpaths
Orø is a delightfully lush island in the middle of Isefjorden with lots of footpaths, giving you the chance to see eye-to-eye with nature.

The scenery on Orø is very varied with expansive salt marshes, coastal inclines, spinneys and fields. You won’t find fjord and island scenery like this anywhere else on earth! “Orø urtehave” (herb garden) organises Danish snaps evenings.

Around Isefjorden
Orø is a pleasant stop on your way around the whole of Isefjorden. The Fjordstien trail wends its way through the landscape with little footpaths and dedicated cycle paths. You will pass lots of cosy provincial towns and villages, and there are plenty of places to spend the night along the way.
