New Cold war museum at Stevns In the years 1952-54, 20 meters down the chalk slopes at Stevns a stronghold was built to monitor the south passageway to Øresund, protecting Denmark against the “Red Flotilla” from the east. The stronghold is of no further use to the military and has been turned into a cold war museum. It brings memory about how life must have been in the long corridor 20 meters beneath the surface of the earth above it. Expect more events to occur above ground with the missiles, cannons and tanks, all located in the wonderful scenery. www.stevnsfort.dk New rambler trail in Odsherred In the autumn of 2008 the first 126 kilometres of marked trails will be available to ramblers in Odsherred, during 2009 another 170 kilometres of new rambler trails will follow. With 296 kilometres of trails, Odsherred is one of the areas in Denmark with most on offer for ramblers. www.visitodsherred.dk New Geo-Museum by Faxe limestone quarry On the border to Faxe limestone quarry a new culture house with a Geo-museum, café-cinema and with a stunning view over the turquoise lake and white chalk of Faxe limestone quarry.
