Firearms and ammunition
For persons residing within the European Union (EU) the following laws apply:
Persons in possession of a legal and valid European weapons license (available at your local Police Authority, or countries gun licensing section) can without a specific permit be allowed to transport or own weapons and ammunition, within reason, and travel between two or more member countries for hunting or competition.
The right to own and transport weapons are dependant upon:
That correct documentation being provided for the travel destination, i.e. by providing an invitation to a shooting competition or a hunt in a foreign country,
That there is a legal European weapons license, and
That the importation of the weapon is not illegal in the relevant country (See below)
For persons residing outside the European Union (EU) the following laws apply:
Weapons for the use in competition, hunting or fishing and suitable ammunition, within reason, can in conjunction with travelling through a country or a stay of maximum three months are acceptable and can be owned, carried, used and exported again, by people travelling from outside the European Union (EU) without a suitable license.
The carrier of these weapons must register the weapons with the Customs and Excise office of that country (in the airport, port etc) and must show a valid license from the country of origin or proof that no license is required in that country
If the owner is bringing the weapon in for a conference then that individual must provide an invitation from the organisation
When arriving in the country the owner must fill out a form giving information about the following:
1. Name and address in home country,
2. Temporary address in country of visit,
3. Type of weapon, Calibre and product number, product name or model
A copy of the aforementioned form must always be carried with the weapon and must be presented upon requests by the Police
When leaving the country, this copy must then be given to Customs and Excise
Any other form of, and for the above-mentioned, use for longer periods of three months:
All importation of weapons only allowed by special allowance of the Ministry of Justice
Knives, bladed, pointed articles and stun weapons
It is illegal to import, purchase, carry or use any kind of dangerous weapon unless holding an appropriate license.
1. Sharp weapons or pointed articles with a blade longer than 12cm (approx 5-6 inches),
2. Knives with duble bladded edges used for stun/shock attacks (Push Daggers),
3. Spring knives and spring stilleto’s,
4. Fold out knives and fold out stilleto’s,
5. Single handed operated knives (fast drawn knives) and folding knives with a split handle whose blades can be extended by hand (Butterfly knives),
6. Knives that have been constructed to hang around the neck or shoulder and are easily useable by single hand,
7. Nunchucks, throwing knives, throwing axes etc.,
8. Police batons, and other similar weapons which may look like they have a different use,
9. Hit and Stun weapons, i.e. Brass knucles and similar items,
10. Weapons, which are intended to impede, stupefying or glaring at the unloading of electric current,
11. Spraycans for self defense, including teargas, spraycans and cartridges
Exeptions
Daggers and knives whose blade goes beyond 12cm, can be used without permit for home use, hunting, fishing or sports diving if they are created for this. Similar rules apply for hand held weapons in relation to hunting and fishing.
The aforementioned weapons can be purchased, carried and owned, without license, for the activities mentioned above.
OBS:
In public places, educational areas, youth clubs, after school clubs and similar sites, the carrying of knives or daggers is illegal, unless it is applied in the use of education or business use, for use in hunting, fishing or sports or has another acceptable (educational or business) use. The ban does not cover folding out knives with a blade shorter than 7cm which cannot be locked in a folded out position.
The police can create special sign posted visitation zones where it is illegal to carry any form of weapon. Under a bylaw, the police can stop and search any individual without any suspicion, for carrying weapons, in such zones

Fireworks:
Please note that the import of fireworks is restricted in Denmark and that permission must be obtained from from Beredskabsstyrelsen. Such a permit will not be granted to individuals.
