Art and music in castles and manor houses

Many of the stately homes and manor houses on Zealand, Møn and Lolland-Falster host concerts and art exhibitions.

Castle concerts

Let one or more of the delightful stately home concerts at the region’s stately homes and manor houses be music to your ears.

Ledreborg Castle hosts an annual concert with The Danish Radio Concert Orchestra. 

Frederiksdal estate hosts classical concerts in August and September.

You can attend mainly classical concerts in the main building of Fuglsang all year round.
 
In Sorø, Klosterkirken (the abbey church) and Sorø Akademi are the backdrop to the Sorø International Music Festival

Art exhibitions

Visit the Nordic region’s largest privately-owned collection of paintings at Gavnø Castle and while you’re there, enjoy the beautiful tulip display.

Rønnebæksholm Kunst- og Kulturcenter (art and culture centre) in the former manor house building has interesting art exhibitions and a variety of cultural events all year round.  

The Borreby Herreborg estate hosts exhibitions in the old courthouse and stables. Here you can see changing exhibitions of art, ceramics, glassware and antiques.

Pederstrup manor house forms the backdrop to the C.D.F. Reventlow museum. The museum houses a unique collection of 19th-century furniture and interior design as well as a large collection of portraits.

Pay a visit to Nysø manor house and see the unique collection of Thorvaldsen’s plaster sculptures, reliefs and sketches produced during his stay there.
